CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: A 25-year-old man who had gone to meet his married lover died under suspicious circumstances in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The man had reportedly reached the woman’s house late at night. During this time, the family members came to know about the presence of an unknown person in the house. The woman’s family locked the room from outside. Fearing he would be caught and in panic, the man died by suicide by hanging himself inside the room. The incident caused a stir in the village.

The case is from Rawaipur village under the Ghatampur police station area. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Pratap Singh alias Saurav, a resident of Mohankheda village under the Malwan police station area of Fatehpur district. His age was said to be around 25. According to information, he had gone to meet his lover at her house on Tuesday night. During this time, the house owner, Paritosh Kumar, heard the sound of an unknown person inside the room. On suspicion, he locked the room from outside and began calling people from nearby.

It was reported that the man panicked after finding himself locked in the room. Before the family members and villagers could arrive, he hanged himself from an iron angle fitted in the room. Later, when the door was opened in the presence of police, the man’s body was found hanging inside. Ghatampur police, who reached the spot after being informed, had the body taken down and sent it for post-mortem. According to the station in-charge, the family members have been informed. Further legal action will be taken after a written complaint is received in the matter. Police are investigating all aspects of the incident.
