CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Sawan, the sacred month, is considered highly auspicious for the worship of Lord Shiva. The Kanwar Yatra holds special significance during this month. A grand Kanwar Yatra was organized from Nehru Nagar in the South-West Assembly Constituency.

Bhagwandas Sabnani, BJP State General Secretary and popular MLA of the South-West Assembly, participated in the yatra. He offered prayers to Lord Shiva at the temple and ceremonially lifted the Kanwar, marking the beginning of the procession. The entire atmosphere reverberated with chants of “Bam Bam Bhole”, as hundreds of devotees, deeply devoted to Lord Shiva, joined the yatra. It felt as though the skies themselves echoed with the name of Bholenath.

Starting from the Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple, the Kanwar Yatra proceeded through various routes and culminated at the Khedapati Hanuman Temple, where Jalabhishek (ritual water offering) was performed, followed by the aarti of Lord Mahadev.

At the start of the yatra, MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani addressed the gathering, saying that Sawan is especially dear to Lord Bholenath, and devotees express their devotion through discipline, restraint, and worship. He emphasized that the Kanwar Yatra is a remarkable representation of Sanatan Dharma, where the river of social harmony visibly flows.

He stated that in the Kanwar Yatra, all devotees become immersed in unified devotion, regardless of background. This unique expression of unity and spiritual harmony is the very essence of Sanatan Dharma. He expressed gratitude and considered himself fortunate to have been part of this holy occasion.

On the occasion of the monsoon season, he appealed to everyone to plant more trees to adorn Mother Earth.

The Kanwar Yatra was organized by Rajendra Rathore Mitra Mandal and witnessed participation of a large number of saints and devotees. Distinguished participants included:
