CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Kapiva has entered into a strategic technology-transfer and commercialisation partnership with the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous research body under the Ministry of AYUSH. The collaboration aims to bring clinically evaluated Ayurvedic formulations and technologies to a wider consumer base.
Under the agreement, CCRAS will provide Kapiva access to selected Ayurvedic formulations, scientific intellectual property, standardisation and manufacturing protocols, along with supporting pre-clinical and clinical research data. The initial collaboration covers 10 products focused on areas including pain, stress, metabolic health, sleep, liver health and respiratory health.
Kapiva will undertake product development and commercialisation, including formulation adaptation, manufacturing at scale, branding and distribution. The company plans to adapt the formulations into consumer-friendly formats while considering factors such as taste, shelf life, dosage forms and convenience. Where dosage forms are changed, appropriate dose-equivalence studies are planned, according to the announcement.
CCRAS says its research programmes include scientific validation, standardisation, pre-clinical studies and clinical research of Ayurvedic formulations. Its pharmaceutical research programme also facilitates technology transfer of developed Ayurvedic medicines to the healthcare system.
The partnership is intended to connect publicly developed Ayurvedic research with private-sector product development and distribution, potentially making selected research-backed formulations available in modern consumer formats.
