CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bollywood actor Katrina Kaif is in the spotlight after comments were made on social media about her post-pregnancy body. Photos and videos of her surfaced on social media after she arrived with husband Vicky Kaushal at the Ambani family’s Ganesh Utsav in Mumbai on September 14. Some users commented on her weight and changed appearance.
Following the comments, actor and politician Khushbu Sundar came out in support of Katrina. She questioned why women’s bodies are made a subject of public discussion and said changes in the body during pregnancy and with age are natural. Khushbu also raised the issue of society’s different attitude towards physical changes in men.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also reacted in support of Katrina. She opposed body shaming while questioning comments about women’s bodies and the social expectations placed on them.
The matter has brought the debate over comments on women’s bodies and beauty back into focus on social media. Actor Hrithik Roshan also liked a social media post written in support of Katrina. However, he did not issue a separate statement on the matter. Katrina, too, has not publicly responded to the comments so far.
