CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Kaveri Hospital has treated a patient suffering from severe leakage in the heart’s aortic valve, known as aortic valve regurgitation, with the help of specialised HANCHOR valve technology. The procedure is an example of the use of advanced medical technology in the treatment of complex heart diseases. According to the hospital, the technique was used for a patient whose aortic valve was not closing properly, causing blood moving from the heart to the body to flow back.
In aortic valve regurgitation, the heart has to work harder to pump blood. In serious cases, symptoms such as breathlessness, fatigue, chest discomfort and reduced heart function may occur. If treatment is not provided in time, the condition can become serious.
The specialised valve technology aims to improve the functioning of the affected valve and prevent the reverse flow of blood. In such complex cases, the treatment process is decided on the basis of the patient’s condition, the structure of the heart and medical investigations.
The hospital’s achievement is being seen as an important step in the field of advanced cardiac treatment. It also highlights the role of new technologies and specialist medical care in the treatment of complex valve-related diseases.
