CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: The Kendri railway gate on the Raipur-Abhanpur rail line in Chhattisgarh will remain closed from tonight. The decision to keep the gate closed has been taken due to essential maintenance work on the railway line. Road traffic is likely to be affected because of this. As per the scheduled programme, the gate will remain closed until 9 a.m. on October 29. Maintenance work on the railway line is necessary for safe and smooth rail operations. Keeping this in view, vehicular movement through the Kendri railway gate will be stopped during the specified period. This may cause inconvenience to drivers and local residents using this route.
During the closure of the gate, people travelling on the Raipur-Abhanpur route are advised to plan their journey in advance. Drivers may use available alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays in reaching their destination. Office-goers, commercial vehicle drivers and regular commuters in particular should leave home keeping time in mind. It is important to follow safety rules during the railway maintenance work. Attempting to cross the closed gate can be risky. Citizens are therefore appealed to follow the prescribed instructions and pay attention to information provided by railway staff. Road traffic at the gate will be able to resume after the maintenance work is completed. Travellers are advised to check the latest status through local administration or official railway information before starting their journey.
