CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is once again in the spotlight for his upcoming film ‘Kesari 2’. The first film, Kesari, was released almost six years ago. It told the story of the Battle of Saragarhi, fought between 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment and ten thousand Afghan warriors. Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Ishar Singh in the original film was widely praised. Since then, audiences have been eagerly awaiting a sequel. With the teaser of ‘Kesari 2’ now released, excitement among fans has reached its peak.
Akshay Kumar shared the teaser of ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’ on his social media, writing:
“He held his head high. He beat them at their own game. He showed them the way. A massacre that India must know about.”
The film is a biopic of the renowned lawyer and freedom fighter C. Sankaran Nair, who bravely stood against the British Empire to expose General Dyer’s role in the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His historic battle will be portrayed on the big screen.
‘Kesari 2’ is directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and features Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in lead roles. Produced by Karan Johar, this much-awaited film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on April 18.
