CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A co-development workshop was organized under the Sankalp Project by the National Health Mission, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, to bring the Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) to single digits in Madhya Pradesh by 2030.

The workshop focused on formulating a research-based action plan to implement effective strategies in Khargone district. The initiative aims to develop an impactful model to reduce Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). This model, developed in Khargone district, will be implemented across Madhya Pradesh to achieve the 2030 goal of bringing the NMR to single digits.

The workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Sankalp Team. NITI Aayog Member (Health) V.K. Paul and ICMR Director General Rajiv Bahl participated via video conferencing.

Mission Director, NHM Madhya Pradesh, Saloni Sidana; key members of the Sankalp Project, including Ramesh Agarwal (Principal Investigator and Head, Neonatology Department, AIIMS Delhi), Deepak Chawla, Yogesh Jain, Ashu Grover, Amlin Shukla; ICMR scientists; regional and district-level health officers; pediatric and obstetrics faculty from MGM Medical College, Indore, and GMC Khandwa; along with district and block-level officials from Khargone, attended the workshop.
