CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Harshit Rana’s ‘finger on lips’ celebration during this team’s big win over Lucknow Super Giants in an IPL 2024 match has fans wondering if that was a dig at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In the eighth over of LSG innings, captain KL Rahul ended up hitting a wide delivery from Rana straight into the hands of Ramandeep Singh in the deep.
Following the catch, Rana celebrated the wicket by putting a finger on his lips.
The Kolkata-based franchise shared a glimpse of the celebration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) where several fans responded that the pacer was probably taunting BCCI for reprimanding his previous celebrations.
Rana recently was fined by the BCCI for his celebrations after taking wickets in the ongoing IPL 2024.
In the first instance, Rana dismissed Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Mayank Agarwal with a 128.1 kph bouncer. He celebrated the dismissal by bidding Agarwal goodbye with a flying kiss.
The Kolkata pacer was later adjudged guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct, charged with two Level 1 offences under Article 2.5 of the Code, leading to a penalty of 60 percent of his match fees.

Another controversy erupted later when Rana was once again spotted going for another flying kiss celebration against the Delhi Capitals on April 29. In that match, Rana got rid of Abhishek Porel.
Having scalped the Delhi batter’s wicket, Rana once again reached for his mouth to perform another flying kiss. The bowler, however, quickly cut short his celebration.
Rana was again charged guilty a second time for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. This time he was fined 100 percent of his match fee while also being banned for one game.
