CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: West Central Railway General Manager Dilip Kumar Singh, during his visit to Kota, interacted with branch officers at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office and reviewed information on innovations and technical improvements being carried out by various departments. He later interacted with participants at the closing ceremony of the five-day “Management Development Programme” held at Officers’ Club, Kota, and presented certificates to them.
Divisional Railway Manager, Kota, Anil Kalra, Senior Deputy General Manager Neeraj Kumar, Principal Chief Safety Officer Manoj Gurmukhi and other senior officers were present at the closing ceremony. The programme was conducted by Deputy General Manager Manish Kumar Patel.
At a meeting held in the auditorium of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office, branch officers presented, through PPTs, the innovations, new work systems and technical improvements undertaken in their respective departments before the General Manager. Reviewing these efforts, the General Manager stressed the need to make innovation a part of daily functioning.
He said modern technologies such as innovation, quality, artificial intelligence and information technology should be used more effectively to make railway operations more efficient. The work system, he said, should be developed in a way that it is based on a strong system rather than on individuals. Giving top priority to quality and safety, he emphasised making the work process more effective and result-oriented through technology.
The closing ceremony of West Central Railway’s five-day “Management Development Programme” was held at Officers’ Club, Kota. A total of 40 participants took part in the programme, including 17 from Jabalpur, 12 from Bhopal and 11 from Kota. During the training, participants were trained on various subjects related to management skills, leadership capacity, artificial intelligence, use of modern technology and better workplace management.
At the closing ceremony, General Manager Dilip Kumar Singh also interacted with the participants and presented certificates to all of them. Addressing the participants, he underlined the importance of better training, optimum use of available resources, work optimisation, and effective use of machines and modern technology. He said that in a changing work environment, proper use of technology along with better management plays an important role in increasing an organisation’s efficiency.
He also stressed the need for systematic and centralised collection of information and work-related data so that the decision-making process can be made faster and more effective. He encouraged the participants to practically apply the knowledge and management skills gained during the training at their workplaces.
