CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s son Taimur has been surrounded by controversy since his birth. Recently, poet Kumar Vishwas criticized Saif and Kareena for naming their son Taimur. He stated that they named their child after a figure who invaded India and committed atrocities against women.
Speaking at an event, Kumar Vishwas said, “Those sitting in the film industry need to understand what this country wants. This won’t work anymore, where you take popularity and money from us, we buy your tickets, and make you heroes and heroines, and then you name your child after an invader who came from outside. This is unacceptable.”
He added, “You could have chosen names like Rizwan, Usman, Yunus, or even named him after the Prophet. But you chose the name of a lame man who invaded India and committed heinous crimes against women. That’s the name you found suitable for your lovely child?”
Warning from Kumar Vishwas
In his speech, Kumar Vishwas issued a warning:
“If you try to make him a hero, we won’t even let him become a villain. Remember, this is an awakened India, a new India.”
Vishwas compared Taimur Ali Khan to the Mongol ruler Taimur Lang, known for his brutal invasions.
Controversy Began Hours After Taimur’s Birth
In an earlier interview, Kareena Kapoor revealed that within hours of Taimur’s birth in 2016, his name sparked controversy. While she was still in the hospital, a prominent personality visited and advised her against naming her son Taimur. This left Kareena in tears, and she asked the person to leave.
Kareena clarified in the interview that the name Taimur wasn’t inspired by any ruler. She said the name means “iron” in Persian, which she found meaningful and appealing.
