Five Indian nationals on board the Kuwait-flagged crude oil tanker MT Kazimah III were rescued safely after the vessel was attacked by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. The Indian Embassy in Oman said all five Indians had been brought safely to shore. The Indian mission thanked Omani authorities for their assistance in the rescue operation.

According to the embassy, the tanker was passing through the Strait of Hormuz when it was targeted by a projectile. After the incident, an immediate rescue operation was launched keeping the safety of the Indian nationals in view. With the cooperation of Omani authorities, all five Indians were safely evacuated from the ship and brought to shore.

MT Kazimah III is a crude oil tanker operating under the Kuwaiti flag and, according to available reports, was headed towards the port of Lome in Togo. The use of a projectile in the attack has been confirmed, but available official information has not confirmed its source or the party responsible for the attack. A British maritime security organisation has also reported an attack by an unidentified projectile on an oil tanker in the region.

The incident comes at a time when concerns have increased over the security of commercial vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The Government of India and its diplomatic missions are monitoring the safety of Indian seafarers present in the region.
