CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Lakhan Patel, inspected the Bull Mother Farm and the Embryo Transfer Laboratory in Bhopal.

During the visit, he observed various cattle breeds such as Gir, Tharparkar, and Rathi, and discussed the ongoing operations at the farm with Raju Rawat, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation, and Amitabh Banerjee, Director and Manager of the Bull Mother Farm.

During the inspection, Minister Patel directed officials to install solar panels on the roofs of the sheds at the Mother Farm and Embryo Transfer Laboratory, to generate electricity and increase income. He also instructed them to prepare and submit a project proposal for funding the recurring expenses of IVF procedures.

Managing Director Raju Rawat mentioned that during the Minister’s previous visit, he had instructed the strengthening of the Bull Mother Farm and introduction of new cattle breeds. In compliance, a project has been prepared and will be presented in a meeting for submission to the Government of India.

He also informed that the Minister had earlier advised feeding silage to cattle for increased milk production. Accordingly, the Animal Husbandry Department conducted a tender process to determine silage prices, and procurement of silage at the approved rates is currently underway.
