CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign was launched at AIIMS Bhopal with the commencement of “Swachharambh.” During an event organized at AIIMS Bhopal, floral tributes were paid to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and his efforts towards cleanliness were remembered to raise awareness about hygiene. On this occasion, AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Professor Ajay Singh, emphasized that cleanliness is not only essential for our surroundings but also for our mind and body. Through cleanliness, we can attain divinity, and therefore, we must focus on cleanliness.
He administered a cleanliness oath to everyone present, encouraging them to work towards personal hygiene and environmental conservation. During the event, he also stressed the need to reduce plastic usage, stating that we must raise awareness about minimizing plastic use at home, offices, and other places, contributing to a cleaner society. This will help instill a habit of cleanliness both in our surroundings and in our behavior.
A large number of officers, staff, faculty members, nursing officers, and members from engineering and other departments attended the event. The “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign, which will run until October 2, 2024, aims to make AIIMS clean, plastic-free, and healthy, inspired by the national initiative “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat.”
