CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Every medium of mass communication has its unique nature and challenges. Understanding them is essential for effective writing, said Prof. Mrinal Chatterjee of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal (Odisha) campus. Prof. Chatterjee was addressing students in the Department of Mass Communication at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication on the topic of writing for mass communication media. The program was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. K.G. Suresh.

In his address, Prof. Suresh emphasized that such workshops not only provide students with theoretical knowledge but also offer practical perspectives. Prior to this, Dr. Aarti Sarang, Head of the Mass Communication Department, welcomed the guests. The program was conducted by Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Lal Bahadur Ojha, with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Urvashi Parmar. The event was attended by the Registrar of the university, Dr. Avinash Vajpeyi, faculty members of the Mass Communication Department, and students.

In a special lecture on “AI in Media Education” held in the Vikramshila Conference Hall of the New Media Technology Department, Prof. Mrinal Chatterjee stated that AI is a great instructor and helper. He emphasized that AI cannot govern humans; rather, humans will govern AI. The lecture was chaired by Prof. K.G. Suresh, who highlighted the importance of AI and advised students to stay updated. The lecture was organized by Dean and Head of the Department, Prof. P. Shashikala, and conducted by Assistant Professor Manoj Kumar Dhurve.

In another special lecture in the Department of Journalism on the topic “The Role of English Journalism in Nation Building,” Prof. Chatterjee noted that English journalism in India has had two facets: one that supported the British, and the other that promoted nationalism during the freedom movement. Indian leaders sharpened the national movement against the British government through English journalism. The lecture was presided over and introduced by the Head of the Department, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta. The program was conducted by student Naman Atolia, with a vote of thanks delivered by Assistant Professor Lokendra Singh Rajput.
