A special lecture on the life, thoughts, and invaluable contributions of Bharat Ratna “Mahamana” Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya was organized at LNCT University Auditorium. The event aimed to commemorate his role in nation-building and inspire the younger generation with his ideology.

The program began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by students performing the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) anthem. The event revived Malaviya’s philosophy, ensuring that his contributions continue to motivate present and future generations.

Remembering Mahamana’s Legacy

Speakers highlighted that Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya was not only a great educationist and freedom fighter but also a guardian of Indian culture and society. He founded Banaras Hindu University (BHU), revolutionizing Indian education and social reforms. His contributions to education, social justice, nationalism, and journalism remain eternally significant.

Prominent scholars and intellectuals shared their insights on Malaviya’s life and ideals. As a part of the event, a letter was submitted to the Chief Minister, requesting the renovation of Malaviya Bhavan, a building dedicated to his memory.

Appeal for Restoration of Malaviya Bhavan

A formal petition was sent to Governor Mangubhai Patel, urging the government to restore and reassign Malaviya Bhavan, located in Mayur Park. The letter stated that the building, originally constructed in honor of Madan Mohan Malaviya, is currently under PWD department control and is being misused for antisocial activities due to a lack of security guards, making it an unsafe location.

The petition emphasized that Malaviya should be recognized as a pride of Madhya Pradesh, given his pioneering contributions, such as:

✅ Establishing BHU

✅ Introducing reservations for Dalits

✅ Founding the Scouts & Guides movement

✅ Actively participating in the freedom struggle, earning the title “Mahamana” from Mahatma Gandhi

Prominent attendees included Sanjay Gupta, Ashutosh Singh, A.K. Chaudhary, Subhash Singh, Lahari, Dr. G.K. Pathak, M.M. Mishra, O.P. Singh, and many other distinguished scholars.
