CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Electrical Engineering at UIET RGPV and the Student Chapter, Institution of Engineers (India), jointly organized a lecture series on career counseling titled “Career Shape Your Future in College Life” at the university’s auditorium! The program was attended by Mr. Sameer Goyal, who is currently serving as a Manager at the Reserve Bank of India and is a former student of the Electrical Engineering Department at UIET. He secured an all India rank of 222 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023. More than 200 students from various departments participated in the program.

Addressing the students, Mr. Sameer Goyal shared his personal journey and emphasized the crucial role of college life in preparing for competitive exams. He stressed the importance of daily reading, engaging in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to enhance one’s profile, and limiting or avoiding the use of social media platforms. He provided detailed strategies for UPSC exam preparation and highlighted the significance of a competitive mindset, expression, and personality development. Additionally, he offered guidance on selecting optional subjects for the UPSC exam and discussed other important competitive exams such as SSC, RBI Grade B, etc.

The program began with a speech by Prof. Vinay Thapar (Head of the Department, Electrical Engineering Department), who addressed the students, urging them to internalize important mantras for success in life, such as strong determination, consistent effort, hard work, and learning from failures.

During the program, students actively participated in discussions and question-answer sessions. The vote of thanks for the session was presented by Narayan Prasad Gupta.
