CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, organised a legal awareness programme at Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bairagarh.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Judge Suneet Agarwal, Kadambini Shiksha Samiti president Dinesh Sharma (PLV), Sant Hirdaram College Managing Director Hero Gyanchandani, Shaheed Hemu Kalyani Sansthan secretary Ghanshyam Bulchandani and Vice Principal Meenu Tahlayani by lighting the ceremonial lamp and garlanding the portrait of Sant Hirdaram Ji.
At the programme, Judge and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, Suneet Agarwal informed the students about various legal issues and made them aware of their rights and the law. During the session, the students were given information about legal provisions, women’s safety, women’s rights and the process of obtaining legal aid when needed.

It was also explained that the District Legal Services Authority plays an important role in providing free legal assistance to needy and eligible persons. The judge encouraged the students to remain aware of the law, understand their rights and seek proper guidance in the event of any legal problem. The main objective of the programme was to increase legal awareness among students and make them alert to their rights.
Judge Agarwal answered questions raised by the students from the stage and addressed their queries. He also gave detailed information on cyber issues and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Such legal awareness programmes are an important step towards developing understanding of the law in society and empowering women and young girls. On the occasion, PLV Dinesh Sharma shared helpline numbers for women and children. He said complaints related to cyber fraud can be made on 1930, the National Legal Services Authority’s toll-free number is 15100, and for police help or other necessary complaints, people can dial 112 and report their problem.
During the event, Hero Gyanchandani gave detailed information about Sant Hirdaram College and Hemu Kalyani Sansthan. The programme was conducted by Sunila Chaubey. Guests were welcomed with tulsi plants and mementos. A large number of college students were present on the occasion.
