CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal successfully performed another complex surgery, saving the life of a 60-year-old farmer. The surgery was conducted by the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department under the guidance of Executive Director Ajay Singh.

The farmer, a resident of Sagar district, had been suffering from persistent abdominal pain for the past year. After consultations at various hospitals, it was discovered that he had a 10-centimeter abdominal aortic aneurysm, which was continuously enlarging and could rupture at any time.

When he found no relief elsewhere, he turned to AIIMS Bhopal. Here, after detailed examinations, the expert team of the CTVS department decided to proceed with surgery. In this complex procedure, the swollen aorta was removed and repaired using an artificial graft.

After the surgery, the patient was shifted to the ICU, where his health is steadily improving.

Professor Singh described this achievement as a symbol of AIIMS Bhopal’s social commitment. He said the institution aims to provide high-quality medical services to the rural and economically weaker sections of the state.

The surgery was led by Yogesh Nivariya and included specialists M. Kishan, Surendra Singh Yadav, Dr. Rahul Sharma, Vikram Vatti, Aditya Sirohi, among others.
