CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A Lighting and Fashion Photography Workshop was organized by the MCU Cinema Studies Department for MSc Film Production and BSc FCS students at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium. The workshop featured Kunal Gupta, a renowned young photographer and graduate of the International Center of Photography, New York, as the expert. Having worked on advertising and product photography for major brands like BMW, Flipkart, Tata, and Volkswagen, Gupta provided students with valuable insights ranging from fundamental concepts of photography and lighting to advanced and specialized techniques.

At the beginning of the workshop, Professor Pavitra Srivastava, Head of the Department, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of photography as an integral part of the industry and highlighting opportunities for entrepreneurship and career development within the field. Following this, the expert Kunal Gupta discussed key points in fashion photography, sharing some of his own photographs that provided valuable learning experiences. He emphasized the crucial role of product photography in advertising and noted that there is still a strong demand for skilled photographers in the industry, highlighting the numerous opportunities available. He also guided students on how to establish themselves in the industry and find new assignments. Students actively participated by asking photography-related questions.

The program concluded with thanks extended by Senior Assistant Professor Gajendra Singh Avasya. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Nikon, with participation from Chandrashekhar Upadhyay and Rahul Maheshwari representing Nikon, as well as students and faculty from both undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the Cinema Studies Department.
