LIG’s Raja Makes Grand Arrival With 51 Drums, Women’s Damru Team

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The grand arrival of “LIG’s Raja” took place on September 11 at LIG Ground in Nariyal Kheda, Bhopal, under the Ganesh Utsav organised by Shri Mahakal Utsav Samiti. A grand procession was taken out to welcome Bappa, with 51 drums and a women’s damru team emerging as the special centre of attraction.

Amid the sound of drums and a devotional atmosphere, a large number of devotees joined the procession. The entire area turned devotional with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. Devotees welcomed Lord Shri Ganesh with dance and song.

Shri Mahakal Utsav Samiti is organising various religious, cultural and entertainment programmes during Ganesh Utsav. The committee said the installation of Ganesh ji will take place on September 14, followed by various sports and entertainment programmes from September 15 to 20, Maha Aarti on September 21, Khatu Shyam Kirtan on September 22, a large bhandara on September 23 and immersion on September 25.

The committee expressed gratitude to all devotees and local residents who supported the event and helped make it successful.
