CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), the RGPV Nodal Drop Roball Women’s and Men’s Championship 2024–25 was organized by Lakshmi Narain College of Technology (LNCT), Bhopal at the LNCT Campus, Raisen Road, Bhopal. Over 80 male and female athletes from six colleges of the Bhopal Nodal zone participated and showcased their sporting talents.
In the women’s category, LNCT emerged as the overall champion with 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal, while SISTec-G secured second place with 1 gold medal.
In the men’s category, JNCT claimed the title of overall champion with 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal, while LNCT secured second place with 1 gold and 1 silver medal.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ashok Kumar Rai, Director (Administration), who interacted with the players and extended his best wishes. Several sports officials including Pankaj Kumar Jain, Amit Singh, R.K. Sharma, Nilesh, and Arun were present during the event.
In the women’s singles final, Purnima from Sagar defeated Vaishnavi of LNCT with a score of 2–0 to clinch the gold medal.
In the women’s doubles final, Sara, Sruvajal, Mansi, and Aastha from LNCT defeated Mehak and Riddhi of Bansal Mandideep by 2–0 to win the gold medal.
In the women’s triples final, Aashi Rathore, Anushka Thakur, Anushka Yadav, and Srishti Singh Rajput from LNCT defeated Tanya Soni, Priyanshi Katare, Dimple, and Khushi of JNCT 2–0 to secure the gold medal.
In the mixed doubles final, Mansi Sahu and Anshu of LNCT defeated Aditi and Pawan of JNCT 2–0 to win the gold medal.
In the men’s singles final, Sachin Gupta of JNCT defeated Nived of LNCT 2–1 to win the gold medal.
In the men’s doubles final, Krishna Gopal and Vishal of JNCT defeated Abhishek Gurjar and Ajay Sharma of Bansal Mandideep 2–0 to clinch the gold medal.
In the men’s triples final, Hemant, Ali, Vineet, and Arav from LNCT defeated Harshvardhan, Saurabh, and Kapil of JNCT 2–0 to take the gold medal.
Competition Secretary Mahesh Sodhiya announced that the state-level Drop Roball Championship of RGPV will be held on April 1.
