CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the direction of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, and the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, Manoj Kumar Shrivastava, the District Legal Services Authority, Bhopal, organised a tree plantation and legal awareness programme at LNCT Law University, Bhopal, under the leadership of Secretary Sunit Agrawal as part of the Panch-J campaign.

District Legal Aid Officer Muhammad Jeelani was present at the programme. University Dean Dr M.K. Sahu, Registrar Soni, NCC officers, faculty members and a large number of students participated. On the occasion, around 100 saplings of various species were planted, and all participants pledged to protect them.

Addressing the programme, Secretary Sunit Agrawal said environmental protection is the greatest need of the present time. Every citizen should plant at least one sapling and take regular care of it, he said. He called upon students to turn tree plantation into a campaign of public participation and play an active role in protecting nature.

On the occasion, students were also informed about free legal aid, Lok Adalat and various legal awareness schemes run by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. They were told that the District Legal Services Authority is continuously working to provide free legal aid to needy and deprived sections of society.

At the end of the programme, all those present took a collective pledge to carry out maximum tree plantation for creating a green and clean environment and to protect the saplings planted.
