CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The South West Zone Inter-University Karate Men’s Competition, organized by LNCT University under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities, witnessed the semifinals and finals for individual kumite in three weight categories: -55kg, -60kg, and -67kg, followed by the prize distribution ceremony.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the winning athletes were awarded medals and mascots by dignitaries including Dr. V.S. Rai (Sports Officer, Excellence College), Alok Mishra (Sports Director, Barkatullah University), C.S. Dhakad (Sports Officer, MVM Bhopal), Rajesh Mishra (Sports Director, MANIT), Ravindra Kaushik (Sports Officer, Barkatullah University), Lalit Parikh (Admission Cell Head, LNCT), Mukesh Chansoria (Director of Research, LNCT University), and Pankaj Jain (Sports Director, LNCT). The organizing secretary V.S. Pawar, Ajab Pratap Singh (Technical Engineer), and Jatin Kumar (Commentator, FGSN) also distributed awards. Coaches and managers were honored with mementos and T-shirts through a lucky draw.

Late tonight, matches for individual kumite in -75kg, -84kg, +84kg categories, along with team kumite, were played. The semifinals and finals for these categories are scheduled to take place tomorrow morning.

Silver Medal: Pawan Jangid (Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Shekhawati University)

Bronze Medal: Rahul Jaiswal (RGPV Bhopal) and Vijay Surya (University of Calicut)

Individual Kumite -60kg:

Gold Medal: Bobby Sharma (Osmania University)

Silver Medal: Sushan (Mangalore University)

Bronze Medal: Man Bhushan (Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Shekhawati University) and Arvind Kaushal (Jain University)

Individual Kumite -67kg:

Gold Medal: Sahil Burman (RD University, Jabalpur)

Silver Medal: Vikram R. (Karpgam University)

Bronze Medal: Pranav Gaikwad (Bharati Vidyapeeth) and Deepak Rauthan (Barkatullah University, Bhopal)
