CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of Captain Roop Singh’s 117th birthday, the LNCT Sports Achievers Award 2024 was organized at the LNCT University JK Hospital Kolar Road Bhopal Auditorium. The chief guests for the event were Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Ashok Dhyanchand, and Mrs. Poonam Chouksey, Chancellor of LNCT Vidyapeeth University, Indore. Special guests included Pradeep Singh and Kaushal Kumari from Captain Roop Singh’s family, along with Dronacharya Awardee Sanjay Bhardwaj and Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Thapak.
In this annually held program, 10 coaches and 15 outstanding athletes from the state are honored. Additionally, LNCT University medalists who won medals in All India Inter-University competitions are recognized with cash prizes and mementos, and all athletes participating in the University Star competition are honored as well. LNCT Sports Director Pankaj Kumar Jain mentioned that the following talents were recognized this year:
