CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: LNCT University’s Department of Physical Education student Angshujoy Das has brought pride to the university and the Indian karate community with notable achievements in karate competition management and sports technology.
Das has been honoured by the India Book of Records for successfully using a joystick system in karate competitions in India for the first time. He has also recorded another historic achievement by carrying out the world’s first successful use of a wireless joystick system in karate competition management.
The first successful use of the joystick system was made during the India Open International Karate Championship Series – 2 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Thereafter, the wireless joystick system was successfully implemented at the 10th International Karate Championship – Indian Challengers Cup 2026 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.
The technology played an important role in making the conduct of karate competitions, the decision-making process and the scoring system faster, more accurate and more effective.
On the achievement, LNCT Group Secretary and JNCTPU Chancellor Anupam Chouksey and LNCT Group Sports Director Pankaj Kumar Jain congratulated Angshujoy Das and appreciated his innovation and dedication. They said the integration of modern technology in sports would provide a new direction to Indian sports in the future.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of sports and technological innovation, Angshujoy Das was also conferred the Fifth Sports Achievement Honour. The honour was presented to him at a special ceremony held at LNCT University, Bhopal.
Being listed in the India Book of Records and receiving the Fifth Sports Achievement Honour are proof of Angshujoy Das’s sustained efforts, innovative thinking and dedication to the modernisation of sports. His success is a source of inspiration not only for the karate community, but also for young people working in the field of sports technology.
