CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Health Day, a Health and Legal Awareness Camp was organized on Thursday, April 7, 2025, at LNCT University, Kolar Road, Bhopal.

The event was conducted under the directives of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, under the guidance of Shri Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Bhopal, and in the presence of Shri Sunit Agrawal, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhopal.

The program commenced with a floral tribute to the idol of Goddess Saraswati by Shri Sunit Agrawal (Secretary, DLSA Bhopal), Shri B.M. Singh (District Legal Aid Officer, Bhopal), and Anushka Nayak, Head of the Department of Law at the university.

Addressing the gathering of law students, faculty members, and staff, Shri Sunit Agrawal emphasized the importance of self-awareness towards health. He stated that maintaining good health is everyone’s responsibility, as a healthy individual contributes to building a healthy society and nation. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, nutritious food and regular exercise are essential. He also stressed the importance of protecting water resources and nature, saying that a polluted environment adversely affects our health, whereas preserving nature ensures access to clean air, water, and food.

He further informed the audience about various legal schemes and services, including Lok Adalat, Mediation Scheme, MP Victim Compensation Scheme, Free Legal Aid, and Legal Advice & Literacy Programs. He emphasized that basic legal awareness is crucial for protecting one’s rights. If anyone around requires legal assistance or advice, they should be encouraged to approach the Legal Services Authority or call the toll-free helpline 15100 for free consultation and legal aid as per the rules.

Shri B.M. Singh, District Legal Aid Officer, elaborated on the Lok Adalat and Mediation schemes, encouraging people to use Lok Adalat for dispute resolution. He explained that decisions made through Lok Adalat are final, not subject to appeal, and help foster harmony between the parties.

The event witnessed active participation from law students and faculty members of the university’s Department of Law.
