CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the directions of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, and under the guidance of Principal District Judge and Chairman Manoj Kumar Srivastava, the first National Lok Adalat of 2026 will be organized on Saturday, 14 March.

Currently, a total of 1,62,077 cases are pending in the courts under Bhopal District. In the National Lok Adalat, 12,189 cases eligible for settlement will be placed before the bench, including criminal compoundable cases, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, claim cases, electricity act cases, marital disputes, and other civil matters. Additionally, 80,127 pre-litigation cases related to the Electricity Department, bank recovery, Jalkar & BSNL departments, and traffic e-challans will also be included.

To ensure the maximum disposal of cases, a total of 60 benches have been constituted, covering District Court Bhopal, Tehsil Court Barasia, Family Court, Labour Court, and other subordinate courts. This time, the Electricity Department and Municipal Corporation will, as in previous Lok Adalats, provide relief in accordance with government orders.

Sunita Agrawal, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, stated that cases resolved through the National Lok Adalat result in a complete refund of court fees. Furthermore, settlements reached by mutual consent among parties in a harmonious environment save both time and money.
