Lucknow. The triple murder in the Naubasta area under Saadatganj police station in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow has shaken the entire city. A long-running dispute over parking and the construction of a platform turned bloody on Monday, October 26. It is alleged that former Merchant Navy officer Rishabh Shukla opened indiscriminate fire with a pistol, killing three members of the same family. The deceased have been identified as Shivaji Tiwari, his brother Shambhu Tiwari and Shivaji’s son Suyash Tiwari. Police have taken the accused into custody from the spot.

Accused sat near bodies with pistol and magazine

According to eyewitnesses, after the firing, Rishabh Shukla remained seated outside the house with a pistol in one hand and a magazine in the other. It is alleged that he also threatened to shoot people who came forward to help the injured. This spread panic in the area, and people were afraid to approach the injured immediately. Later, the accused went inside the house. Police have allegedly recovered the pistol used in the crime and four spent cartridges from him.

Dispute escalated over removing vehicle and building platform

According to local people, a dispute had been going on for a long time between the two sides over building a platform on vacant land in the area and parking vehicles. On Monday morning, when work on the platform began, an argument broke out over removing a vehicle. The dispute escalated quickly, and people from both sides came face to face.

According to the claim of an eyewitness, Rishabh already had a weapon during the dispute. Attempts were made to stop him, but the situation deteriorated in the meantime and he allegedly started firing. However, police are investigating the sequence of events and the role of other people involved.

All three died in hospital

Shivaji Tiwari (62), Shambhu Tiwari (55) and Suyash Tiwari (30) were seriously injured by gunshots. They were taken to the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU), but all three could not be saved. Shivaji and Suyash are reported to have died on the spot, while Shambhu succumbed during treatment.

Mourning amid wedding preparations

According to local people, Suyash was to be married on December 5, and preparations were under way in the family. After the incident, mourning descended on a home that had been preparing for celebrations. Relatives of the deceased have demanded strict action against the accused.

After information about the incident, senior officials including Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba reached the spot. Police increased security arrangements in the area and began investigating the case. According to police, legal action is being taken on the basis of the complaint by the victim’s side. The long-running dispute is being considered the main reason behind the murders, although all circumstances will be confirmed only after the investigation is completed.
