CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal has consistently organized special programs to provide advanced knowledge in medical education and disease management. In line with this, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine hosted a significant guest lecture and case-based discussion. The program was conducted under the guidance of Executive Director Madhavanand Kar.
The lecture featured Dr. Pallavi Kanwar Galera, a renowned hematopathologist from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and Associate Program Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship. She delivered an expert session on “Follicular Lymphoma Classification, Tumor Microenvironment, and Evolving Concepts in Biology.”
Additionally, a case-based discussion on “Approach to Lymphomas” was conducted, providing residents and doctors the opportunity to learn through real-life cases. Lymphoma is a blood-related cancer, and timely diagnosis and proper treatment can save patients’ lives.
Dr. Pallavi explained that new scientific methods and recent research advancements have made lymphoma treatment more effective. She emphasized that early identification of the disease enables doctors to provide better treatment and improve the patient’s quality of life. She added that such lectures are not only beneficial for medical professionals but also informative for the general public.
These programs enhance the knowledge and expertise of doctors, allowing them to treat patients more effectively in the future. Faculty members and residents from the Departments of Pathology, Pediatrics, Clinical Hematology, and Medical Oncology actively participated in the discussion. Participants found the session highly useful, clear, and closely aligned with daily medical practice.
The Head of the Pathology Department expressed gratitude to Dr. Pallavi for her valuable contribution, noting that her expertise and experience will guide doctors in understanding and treating serious diseases like lymphoma more effectively.
