CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government is set to adopt a strict stance against illegal colonies in the state. Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya announced in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly that the state government will soon introduce a new law to ensure stringent action against those developing unauthorized colonies. He stated that preparations are underway to implement the law within the next three months.

The announcement was made during the budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly. Minister Vijayvargiya made it clear that unauthorized colonies being developed without approval will now face strict prohibition. Penal provisions will be introduced against colonizers and builders involved in illegal plotting to curb such activities in the future. He emphasized that the government’s objective is to protect citizens from fraud and to ensure planned and systematic urban development.

The minister also indicated that the government would adopt a humanitarian approach in cases of already established illegal colonies. Colonies that can be regularized under the rules will be considered for legalization. However, strict action will be taken against colonies that are completely in violation of regulations.

On this issue, the opposition also criticized the government. Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh alleged that administrative laxity allowed illegal colonies to continue developing, forcing common citizens to struggle for basic amenities. He demanded concrete action against responsible officials and builders.

In several cities across the state, the administration has already undertaken bulldozer action against illegal constructions. The government maintains that once the new law is implemented, such enforcement measures will become more effective, ensuring strict punishment for those found guilty.
