CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, due to the state government’s efforts, the economy is expected to reach ₹18.48 lakh crore in 2026-27. In 2025-26, the GSDP stood at ₹16.48 lakh crore, showing a significant increase this year. For the financial year 2026-27, a budget of ₹4.38 lakh crore has been allocated with priority given to development, social security, and infrastructure. The government expects a revenue surplus by the end of the year.

To accelerate infrastructure projects, a capital expenditure of ₹80,266 crore has been proposed, which accounts for 4.80% of the GSDP. The budget includes increased allocations for various departments, including Rural Development (37%), Urban Development (16%), Women & Child Development (26%), Revenue (43%), and School Education (11%). This will boost development in both rural and urban areas.

For the agriculture sector, a provision of ₹88,910 crore has been made, which, including non-budgetary resources, reaches nearly ₹1.15 lakh crore. This will help increase farmers’ income and modernize agriculture. For women’s empowerment, ₹23,800 crore has been allocated for the Laadli Behna scheme. Additionally, budget allocations have been made for various other schemes, including ₹23,747 crore for the health sector. Provisions of ₹1.83 lakh crore have been made for social and economic upliftment programs.

New initiatives include the Dwarka, Swamitva, and Yashoda Dairy Supply schemes, which aim to strengthen the rural economy. Overall, this budget is seen as providing a new direction for the state’s economic growth, balancing infrastructure development, agricultural empowerment, women’s welfare, and social security.
