CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In Lahar, Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh Congress staged a massive protest, during which senior Congress leader and former Leader of the Opposition Dr. Govind Singh broke down in tears on the stage. Dr. Govind Singh’s emotional display on stage prompted a response from Cabinet Minister Rakesh Shukla of the Mohan government.

Speaking to the media in Gwalior, Minister Rakesh Shukla commented that the people of Lahar had been suffering for the past 30-35 years, enduring atrocities. On the same day as the Congress protest in Lahar, members of the Scheduled Caste community were also protesting, seeking justice.

Minister Shukla took a jab at Dr. Govind Singh’s tears, questioning why he was crying after so many years. He remarked that nothing significant had happened yet, and it was perplexing why Singh was so quick to tears. Shukla added that all actions were being taken within the bounds of the law, and those who consider positions of power their birthright often feel such pain, regardless of who they are.
