CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : In line with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s vision to increase farmers’ income through animal husbandry and to achieve the goal of doubling milk production in the state, the “Dugdh Samriddhi Sampark Abhiyan” (Dairy Prosperity Outreach Campaign) will be launched from October 2.

Under this campaign, direct contact will be made with livestock farmers in villages. They will be made aware of breed improvement, animal health, and nutrition, along with being provided necessary guidance. The campaign will be carried out in three phases. It will begin on October 2 with Gram Sabha (village assemblies) and will continue until October 9.

Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Shri Umakant Umrao, held a meeting at the ministry regarding preparations for the campaign, attended by all concerned departmental officials. The Principal Secretary directed that the campaign should be widely publicized through print, electronic, digital media, and other communication channels. Information will also be disseminated in villages through public announcements.

It was informed in the meeting that during the campaign, personal contact will be made with livestock farmers who have 10 or more cattle. In the second phase, livestock farmers with 5 or more cattle will be contacted, while in the third phase, farmers with 5 or fewer cattle will be reached.

As part of the campaign, Assistant Veterinary Officers/Maitri workers will conduct household visits to livestock farmers, creating awareness about animal nutrition, health, and breed improvement.
