CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh achieved an important milestone in the field of clean and green energy by dedicating to the nation solar parks with capacities of 500 MW in Neemuch and 450 MW in Shajapur. Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi inaugurated the projects. Developed at a cost of about Rs 2,080 crore, the projects are being seen as a major step towards placing the state among the country’s leading solar energy-producing states.
Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state’s goal is to attract investment, create employment and promote clean energy production through green development. He said Neemuch is rapidly developing as a green energy hub, where large-scale solar and pumped storage projects are operational and under construction. He claimed the new solar park would make electricity available at about Rs 2.14 per unit, among the most competitive rates in the country.
During the programme, bhoomi-pujan and inauguration were also carried out for industrial units and development projects worth Rs 1,553.98 crore. Referring to achievements in investment, employment, farmers’ welfare, irrigation, the Ladli Behna scheme and the Jal Ganga conservation campaign, the Chief Minister said the state is moving ahead rapidly towards green development and inclusive progress.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is creating a new identity globally in the field of renewable energy.
