CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a significant reform in the education system. Under the new directive, the services of guest teachers in schools with permanently appointed teachers will be discontinued. This decision could directly impact approximately 70,000 guest teachers.

According to the government order, all district education officers have been instructed that if multiple guest teachers are appointed for the same subject, the teacher with the lowest score on the scorecard will be removed. As part of this process, guest teachers with lower scores will have to leave their respective schools.

A spokesperson from the education department stated, “The aim of this step is to enhance the quality of teaching and provide better education to students. Ensuring the appointment of permanent teachers will maintain continuity in education.”

Guest teachers have expressed mixed reactions to this decision. While many have been demanding regularization of their positions for years, the new order has cast uncertainty over their jobs. “We always hoped for permanent positions, but now this decision has made our situation even more difficult,” said an affected guest teacher.

Analysts believe this step could bring stability to the education system and improve teaching quality. However, for effective implementation, the government must develop alternative plans for the affected teachers.

With this major shift in Madhya Pradesh’s education sector, significant impacts are expected on both teachers and students in the coming days. The government has assured that the process will be carried out transparently and fairly.
