CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: After the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in Haryana, the general public’s focus has shifted to the idea of a “double-engine government.” In Madhya Pradesh, the “double-engine government” is functioning, and the state government is committed to accelerating the pace of development and ensuring that departmental work is done swiftly. As part of this effort, the government is determined to make the land of “Muktidham” (cremation grounds) free from encroachment in every district. Leading this innovative initiative is the state’s cabinet minister, Rakesh Shukla, who has launched a campaign to free these lands from encroachment.
This unique initiative by Cabinet Minister Rakesh Shukla began in the Mehgaon constituency of Bhind district and is now being implemented in Ashoknagar district as well. Minister Rakesh Shukla is himself the driving force behind this campaign.
In everyday language, these lands are often referred to as cemeteries or cremation grounds. Typically, such places have seen significant encroachments by external elements. Minister Rakesh Shukla aims to free these sacred lands across the state from the encroachments of these external forces.
During his visit to Ashoknagar, where he oversees the district, Minister Rakesh Shukla conducted a marathon meeting with officials, reviewing various construction projects and the implementation of government schemes. During this time, he also issued directives to remove encroachments from all Muktidham sites in the district.
Speaking on Minister Shukla’s initiative to free Muktidham land from encroachment, Praveen Chitransh, a social worker from Bhopal, said, “We welcome this innovative initiative launched by Minister Rakesh Shukla in Ashoknagar after Bhind. Minister Shukla deserves praise for starting this campaign, thinking about the final resting place of individuals’ lives.” Active social workers and voluntary organizations across the state are standing shoulder to shoulder with Minister Shukla in this mission.
