CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Giving a new momentum to the progress of Madhya Pradesh, Indian Railways flagged off the Bhopal–Dhanbad/Chopan Express from Bhopal Railway Station. On this occasion, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav and Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw jointly flagged off the train.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister stated that railways form the backbone of any state’s industrial and social development. This new train service will strengthen connectivity between Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. He further informed that in the 2026–27 budget, Madhya Pradesh has been given a historic allocation of ₹15,188 crore, and projects worth over ₹1.18 lakh crore are currently underway in the state.

Several major railway projects have been approved, including the Indore–Manmad new rail line, the Itarsi–Nagpur fourth line, the Ratlam–Nagda line expansion, and the Gondia–Jabalpur doubling project. It was also stated that the Dankuni–Surat Dedicated Freight Corridor project will provide fresh impetus to industrial development in the region.
