In line with this vision, the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are embracing the mantra of “development with heritage” and jointly fostering a shared cultural framework in the field of religious and spiritual tourism.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during his visit to Varanasi, toured the world-renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor and stated that this partnership will not only strengthen ties between the two states but also open new avenues for public welfare and tourism.

Chief Minister Yadav began his Varanasi visit with worship and holy viewing at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He performed rituals in the sanctum sanctorum following traditional procedures and prayed for the prosperity and development of the people of Madhya Pradesh. He later visited the sacred Ganga Ghats, where he offered prayers to Mother Ganga and performed ritual purification with deep devotion.

He remarked that the spiritual peace experienced at the abode of Baba Vishwanath is truly extraordinary. He also informed that an important MoU is being prepared between Kashi and the Mahakal Lok in Ujjain to facilitate better coordination, information exchange, and improved facilities for pilgrims.

The Chief Minister also reviewed preparations for the 2028 Simhastha Kumbh Mela, focusing on management strategies. A detailed presentation was made covering pilgrimage site management, crowd control, darshan arrangements, and a mobile app-based token system.

Referring to the grand theatrical production based on Vikramaditya staged in Varanasi, he announced that a similar performance will be आयोजित (held) in Ujjain from April 3 to 5 to inspire citizens with values of justice and good governance.

He also highlighted economic and infrastructure cooperation between the two states, including the Ken-Betwa Link Project. Senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh government and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust were present on the occasion.
