CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: National Center for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC), Government of India, Director Tanu Jain conducted a comprehensive review of the vector-borne disease control programme during her three-day visit to Madhya Pradesh.
During her visit, Jain toured Bhopal, Sehore and Raisen districts. State Programme Officer Himanshu Jaiswar briefed her on the latest situation in the state regarding dengue, malaria, chikungunya and Japanese encephalitis (JE). The Director also conducted a special review of the cases reported in Balaghat district.
As part of the field visit, inspections were carried out with the NCVBDC entomological, IEC and laboratory teams at the Khaparia Khapa sub-health centre and the Sultanpur primary health centre in Raisen district.
During the visit, she interacted with CHOs, medical officers, ASHA workers and district malaria officers to assess ground-level activities. During the three-day tour, Tanu Jain also met National Health Mission Mission Director Saloni Sidana and held detailed discussions on field activities and review points.
State Programme Officer Dr Himanshu Jaiswar, Regional Director Chandrashekhar M. Gedam, EMBED Project State Lead Som Sharma and other officials were present during the visit.
At the conclusion, a meeting of all district malaria officers and district VBD consultants of the state was held under the chairmanship of Tanu Jain, with around 100 officials participating. The meeting issued necessary guidelines for time-bound reporting on the IHIP portal and for the control of vector-borne diseases.
