CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Nursing Faculty of Madhyanchal Professional University (MPU) celebrated World Breastfeeding Week 2025 (August 1–7) with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of social commitment. Following this year’s World Health Organization (WHO) theme, “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Build a Healthier Planet, Develop Sustainable Support Systems”, the faculty adopted the slogan “Milk and Magic: Unity of Mother, Father, and Workplace”, highlighting the importance of collective support for breastfeeding.

Throughout the week, a variety of activities were organized, including a Mehendi competition, digital poster making, slogan writing competition, and a survey on myths related to breastfeeding. The aim of these activities was to raise awareness about breastfeeding and dispel social misconceptions.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Manisha Gupta, Principal, Aurobindo College of Nursing, Bhopal, who, in her inspiring address, emphasized that a lack of awareness about breastfeeding remains a major cause of infant mortality and illness, particularly in urban areas. She highlighted that breastfeeding is not only vital for the child but also for the mother and society as a whole.

The program saw commendable participation from the university’s nursing faculty, students, and staff.
