CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Mumbai. The Maharashtra government has taken an initiative to provide an incentive allowance for Anganwadi workers and helpers. The move aims to encourage the work of employees who play an important role in implementing women and child development schemes at the grassroots level and to provide them financial support.

Workers and helpers will benefit: Through Anganwadi centres, essential services are provided for children’s nutrition, health, early education and for pregnant and lactating women. Anganwadi workers and helpers play a key role in implementing these schemes effectively. The incentive allowance is expected to recognise their work and encourage them in carrying out their responsibilities.

Women and child development services will be strengthened: Anganwadi employees work regularly to take the benefits of government schemes to beneficiaries in rural and urban areas. Their responsibilities include providing nutrition-related information, child care, linking beneficiaries with health services and monitoring government programmes. The incentive amount is likely to help improve these services.

Payment-related guidelines will be important: The actual benefit of the incentive allowance will depend on the amount, eligibility, payment period and applicable conditions. Eligible employees will receive the benefit according to official guidelines issued by the department concerned. The notification of the Women and Child Development Department will be important for detailed information and the payment process. This initiative by the government is an important step towards encouraging the contribution of employees associated with the Anganwadi system. It is also expected to strengthen the grassroots implementation of women and child development schemes.
