CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Mumbai. The Maharashtra Public Service Commission has postponed three major main examinations scheduled for 2026. These include the State Services Main Examination 2026, the Maharashtra Civil Engineering Services Main Examination 2026 and the Maharashtra Group-B Non-Gazetted Main Examination 2026. The State Services Main Examination was scheduled to begin on October 3. The commission said the new dates for all three examinations will be announced through a separate notification.
The decision comes amid objections raised by candidates, parents and student organisations over the examination process. Candidates had also questioned the evaluation of answer sheets for the 2025 State Services Main Examination. Following these objections, the commission has decided to conduct a re-evaluation of the answer sheets of the 2025 State Services Main Examination.
The Maharashtra government has formed a high-level committee headed by senior bureaucrat V. Radha to review the state’s competitive examination system. According to the commission, the committee has held discussions with candidates and other stakeholders and studied various examination systems.
The postponement has affected the schedules of thousands of candidates. The commission has appealed to candidates to rely only on official notifications for the new dates and further instructions. The revised dates for the three examinations have not yet been issued.
