CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Manipal. The Corporate Cricket Championship 2026 of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is providing an opportunity for industry and academia to come together on the sports field. The objective of the competition is to encourage mutual cooperation, team spirit and healthy competition among different institutions through cricket.
The matches will be played in the T20 format, with teams from various corporate organisations taking part in the championship. A total of 27 T20 matches are planned under the competition. The teams have been divided into four groups, after which the semifinals and final will be played on the basis of performance. According to the scheduled programme, the semifinals are to be held on December 5 and the final on December 6.
The competition is expected to strengthen mutual cooperation through sport. Corporate cricket tournaments give employees an opportunity to take part in sporting activities away from their professional responsibilities. Strategy, discipline, communication and collective effort play an important role in cricket. Such events can also help promote familiarity and cooperation among employees of different organisations.
This initiative by MAHE is significant in encouraging dialogue between education and industry while also promoting a sporting culture. For the participating teams, the competition is also an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent and perform better as a team. The championship is not limited only to competition, but also serves as a shared platform for sport and networking by bringing different professional groups together. It can help develop positive relations between institutions and increase interest in sport.
