CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Obedullaganj – Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board (Mandi Board) Commissioner-cum-Managing Director Kumar Purushottam conducted a surprise inspection of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Obedullaganj, on Friday. During the visit, he reviewed various arrangements at the market on the spot and obtained detailed information about the facilities being provided to farmers.
During the inspection, Commissioner Kumar Purushottam said that providing simple, transparent and improved facilities to farmers is the top priority of the Mandi Board. He directed the officials present to make all arrangements more effective and stronger, keeping farmers’ interests at the centre.
As part of the inspection, the Managing Director closely reviewed the e-mandi and e-NAM systems, the e-NAM lab, payment counter, grain analyser machine, farmers’ rest house, canteen, drinking water arrangements, cleanliness and information dissemination system. He also inspected the auction shed, CC road, toilets, the 10-metric-tonne-capacity electronic weighbridge and the site identified for the proposed grading and cleaning plant.
Purushottam instructed officials to complete, within the stipulated time frame, work related to construction of additional entry and exit routes for smooth movement inside the market premises, CC work and necessary repairs to various buildings and structures. He also reviewed the attendance and dress code of mandi employees and security guards.
Joint Director of the Mandi Board Savita Jhaniya, Superintending Engineer Madhukar Pawar, Executive Engineer S.C. Goyal, Mandi Secretary R.P. Gupta, Sub-Engineer S.P. Prajapati, all mandi employees, Traders’ Association Vice-President Uttam Nagar and other traders were present during the inspection.
