CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Raghavendra Singh, Commissioner-cum-Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board, carried out a surprise inspection of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Bareli. During the visit, he reviewed various arrangements operating on the mandi premises, sought information on facilities being provided to farmers, and issued necessary directions to the officials concerned.
During the inspection, Commissioner Singh said providing simple, transparent and accessible facilities to farmers is the top priority of the Mandi Board. He directed officials to make all mandi arrangements more effective, orderly and strengthened while keeping farmers’ interests in mind, so that farmers do not face any inconvenience in selling their agricultural produce.
Commissioner Singh inspected the mandi office and premises, e-mandi and e-NAM system, e-NAM lane, grain analyser machine, farmers’ rest house, canteen, drinking water, sanitation and information dissemination arrangements. He also reviewed the auction shed, CC road, toilets, electronic weighing scales and the site identified for the proposed grading and cleaning plant.
Mandi Secretary Ritu Garhwal briefed the Commissioner on the facilities available at the mandi, the current arrangements and the daily arrival of agricultural produce expected on the mandi premises during the upcoming Kharif season. Commissioner Singh directed officials to keep mandi arrangements running smoothly, conduct the auction process in a transparent manner and provide better services to farmers.
During the inspection, Commissioner Singh also held discussions with representatives of the traders’ association and farmers’ association, and heard their views and suggestions regarding the mandi arrangements. He directed the officials concerned to ensure effective implementation of all arrangements, keeping farmers’ convenience and interests foremost.
Superintending Engineer Madhukar Panwar, Deputy Director Lakshman Vaskel, Executive Engineer Goel, Mandi Secretary Ritu Garhwal, Assistant Engineer Anand Yogi, Sub-Engineer N.C. Jatav, Personal Assistant Anil Kumar Choure, the entire staff of Bareli mandi, and representatives of the traders’ association and farmers’ association were present on the occasion.
