CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: India’s star shooter Manu Bhaker missed out on a medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Asian Games 2026. In the final played on Wednesday, Manu scored 181.1 points and finished fifth. She had reached the final after placing third in qualification with a score of 579-20x.
In the final, Manu remained in the medal race in the early stages. At one point, she had moved up to third place, but a score of 9.6 after a 10.8 proved costly for her. She then slipped out of the medal position and ended the competition in fifth place. South Korea’s Choo Gaeun won the gold medal with an Asian Games record score of 246.3 points. China’s Shen Yiyao won silver, while Jiang Ranxin claimed bronze.
Isha Singh and Suruchi Inder Singh, who were also in qualification with Manu, could not make it to the final. The Indian women’s 10m air pistol team also finished fourth with 1719 points and missed the bronze medal to Vietnam on the basis of inner-10s.
However, Manu Bhaker’s Asian Games campaign is not over yet. She will take part in the 25m sport pistol event. The competition is scheduled for September 27 and 28. In this event, Manu will have another opportunity to compete for a medal.
