As every year, January 12, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, will be celebrated as “Youth Day.” On this occasion, all government and private universities and colleges will host a mass Surya Namaskar session alongside motivational, educational, and cultural programs centered around Swami Vivekananda.
The Higher Education Department has issued directives to ensure that mass Surya Namaskar is conducted in all universities and colleges across the state from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on January 12. The program will include the collective singing of the national song “Vande Mataram” and the Madhya Pradesh anthem. Additionally, a message from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will be broadcast on the radio, followed by Surya Namaskar and Pranayama sessions. The mass Surya Namaskar will be performed simultaneously in all educational institutions under a unified signal.
Other Programs on Youth Day:
At 11:30 AM, a speech competition on the theme “Swami Vivekananda: Eternal Inspiration for Youth” will be held.
An exhibition of artworks on Swami Vivekananda’s life and a screening of videos on his famous Chicago lecture will also be organized.
The Higher Education Department has encouraged the participation of volunteer organizations and the general public in these programs at all government and private universities and colleges. Ministers, Members of Parliament, Mayors, District Panchayat Presidents, Members of Legislative Assembly, Municipality Presidents, local representatives, students, and the general public will also take part in the mass Surya Namaskar.
Students participating in the session will be educated on the importance of yoga and maintaining good health. This initiative aims to instill awareness and enthusiasm about physical and mental well-being among the youth.
