CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “A Tree for Mother” – Massive Plantation Drive by Institute of Higher Education Excellence, Bhopal
Under the guidance of Shri Inder Parmar, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education and Chairman of the General Council of the Institute of Higher Education Excellence, Bhopal, a massive tree plantation drive titled “A Tree for Mother” was organized. The campaign aims to foster environmental awareness and sensitivity among students.

The event commenced with a ritual worship of the saplings, followed by an oath to protect the environment. Addressing the gathering, Institute Director Mr. Pragnesh Kumar Agrawal stated, “Trees are not just symbols of greenery, but the foundation of life itself. Even a small effort by each individual can help make the Earth greener and cleaner.”
Following this, inspired and supported by senior environmentalist and social worker Shri Ashok Patrath, 200 saplings were planted on campus. These included a diverse range of flora — flowering plants and large trees like Ashoka, Neem, Tulsi, Arjun, Banyan, Guava, Bael, Gulmohar, Amla, Jamun, Hibiscus, Custard Apple, Eucalyptus, Palash, Almond, Chandni, Amaltas, Kaner, Harra, Karonda, Peepal, Lemon, Chameli, and more.

This initiative not only promotes environmental consciousness but also marks a significant step toward preparing a greener, cleaner environment for future generations.
“A Tree for Mother” is a heartfelt initiative — more than just tree planting, it symbolizes our reverence for mothers and responsibility toward Mother Earth. Students Kanak Vaishnav (B.Com, 2nd Year) and Ayush Nema (M.Com, 1st Year) celebrated their birthdays by planting trees, further adding personal meaning to the event.
On this occasion, many students shared emotional reflections:
Nancy Mishra (B.Com, 4th Year): “‘A Tree for Mother’ defines the essence of a mother’s love. It’s not just about planting a tree but expressing our deep connection to Mother Earth.”

Ayush Nema: “A mother’s love and a tree’s shade both give life and protection. This campaign is our true language of gratitude. I feel proud to be part of such a meaningful initiative.”
Ashish Singh: “Trees are like mothers — rooted and resilient, standing tall through every storm.”
Udit Chouksey: “A mother’s affection is like the comforting shade of a tree — calm, cool, and life-giving. Through this campaign, we not only thank our mothers but also offer greenery to Mother Earth.”
The event concluded with a token of appreciation presented to Shri Ashok Patrath. The campaign was jointly organized by the Green Vasundhara Club, IQAC, Commerce Society, and Academic Committee of the institute. Over 500 students, faculty, and staff actively participated and made the event a resounding success.
