Mathura observes National Unity Day, DM administers unity pledge at Collectorate

National Unity Day was observed in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. A programme was organised on the Collectorate premises, where the District Magistrate administered a pledge to officers and employees to maintain national unity, integrity and security.

During the programme, floral tributes were paid to Sardar Patel by offering flowers before his portrait. The District Magistrate said Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a historic role in strengthening the country’s unity and integrity. Because of his efforts, the merger of several princely states into the Indian Union became possible after Independence. His life inspires national service, firm resolve and devotion to duty.

During the pledge, officers and employees resolved to dedicate themselves to maintaining the country’s unity, integrity and internal security. They also expressed commitment to promoting mutual harmony and brotherhood among citizens and taking the message of national unity to every person. Officers and employees of various departments of the Collectorate were present at the programme. Through the event, Sardar Patel’s ideas and his contribution to nation-building were remembered.
